I use (effectively) a 330 ohm resistor and get no error code. I calculated (search pltopic) that a 390 ohm resistor in parallel with the existing sensor (@20C) would give the value at top end of scale of calibration. The ECU is programmed to expect certain voltage values, my reasoning for using a resistor was to keep within known parameters and not to fry the ECU. I was not aware that zero ohms would create an error code.
