The race is on....!!

I do have to say that the depiction on the schematic i saw (as with certain other parts) is not a true representation. & the switch is called a "remote control"..

In fact it was this... http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

I'm confident its the bulb...

Forgot to mention I am the proud owner of 4 curtain switches. I calculated that if I bought the fourth, because the first three had blown bulbs, I stood a very good chance of finally getting a good one. Boy did I get that wrong - I plan to b e at the parts door at 8am - it's not the taking parts - it's the winning that counts ha ha ha

Hi,
Getting back to original post about the speedo dial. There are a number of dials available if you don't like the one fitted. I got an all black one that had both MPH & KPH from e-bay, fairly easy swap. The one in the photo does look a bit off putting. If the white section is just stuck on then it's not the best method Ive seen of converting the speedo.
Do a search on the furom & you'll find loads of discussion on speedo conversions.

Cheers

I have the black on fitted (the odometer is still in KM) which does the job but is bland. I have a spare dash that I am dampening then looking to put graphics on to brighten the instruments up.

Well I never knew the blind switched lit up as mine never have in the 9 years I have had it,lol, will have to investigate, also have to look at removing air con control panel as bulbs gone, hope there us a fact sheet for it, so much easier.

The blind switches are held in top & bottom. I raise the switch from underneath gently while using a small screwdriver going up and slighly back should get the lower part out a little- then gently down and back with the screwdriver at the top to free the switch + BEING VERY CAREFUL AT ALL TIMES. To the rear of the switch there is a small brown square with a little tail. pull the little tail and the bulb is withdrawn. It's a tiny thing. At least one person has taken off the sleave and found a lamp which fits. I think the sleave serves a pupose so I want to do like for like. I have ordered 5 of the 66461 and a couple of another listed as a lamp. I have 6 switches in total so I will probably put the extras here for cost of switch. bulb and postage. The switch came from ebay. I opened one up and the internals are simply two floating shaped bars pivoting over two points the bars rock to enable two contact like breakers to make contact completing the circuit for up or down - very simple but fiddly as heck to re-assemble

Yarp, cleaned up the contacts on a fair few of these too... They seem to get what looks like "mouse mung" that stuff that used to crud up the old PC ball mice on the contacts rendering these switches (& the sun-roof or AFT switch) a little unresponsive or not functional at all..?

The bulb hijimhere mentions is on the bottom...

The blind switch bulb is Mazda part number H26066461 for anyone wanting to contact a Mazzy dealer...

It has saved me a lot of hassle sourcing & fiddly soldering led's which i had done in a couple of the top bank of switches & even the rear fan switch. But they were larger bulbs... :D

The dealer has advised that the switch illumination bulbs have arrived -will pick them up tomorrow - these were ordered via their respective part numbers listed on the parts sheets.
