I know you've said late April but is there a specific weekend you've got in mind - need to plan ahead if you know what I mean

To be honest I hadn't had any particular thoughts but over the last couple of years the last weekend in April have had pretty good weather so would be looking at that I think. Does any one else have any ideas?

Well Easter weekend is 6th to 9th April in 2012 so that weekend is out as we will be hard pressed to get on the campsite and make it to the bar of the Clachaig Inn during that weekend.

The weekends of the 14/15 and 21/22 are best for us as we can travel down on the Friday. Could prossibly manage the weekend of the 28/29 but probably would not be able to travel down till the Saturday.

I think w/e of April 21/22 would be good. Hopefully nice and warm during the day and we will have a big bonfire to sit around at night!

The site looks fantastic. I'm sure the kids and my four legged friend would be in their element there.
I will add this to my diary as a possible for sure. Only worry for me is the rubbish reaction I have to Midges. #-o

Smidge really does work against midges. I have tried and tested it and I came away with no bites on a midge infested camp site =D>

It will be fine if it is in April but worst case scenario, I'll get Liz to make a boilersuit for you & we can find a bee keepers hat on ebay between now & then.

You'll be a conversation piece at least.

Hey, I could keep you to that. Can it be Pink and White? :D I don't care what I look like when Midges are about. It takes weeks for the swellings to go down. Often my eyes end up shut.
I have never seen the beauty of 'The Real' Scotland. Winter is out of the question as I only have a 2wd and I'm a scardy cat.

Chell the only snow that you should see at the end of April will be on the mountain tops. Midges if any should not be too bad at the end of April as it is just about then that the midge season starts. Just stay in bed until about 10am and the morning lot should by then be gone, in the evening just build the biggest fire the campsite will allow (they supply the wood) and the smoke will drive the buggers away.

This place is a brilliant introduction as to just how good Scotland looks, trust me - its breathtaking round there. We'll make an anti midge suit for you, just get yerself up.

2WD is fine (I'm in that club too now & anyway 4WD is for wussies)
