A few years ago, there were reports of oil patches under Bongos following an oil change. There were also a few reports of full oil discharges when engine under pressure. There was even one engine seizure. Following intense investigation, Comline filters were found to be the cause, the seal was failing. They all cam from a particular batch, there was a product recall, and no problems have been reported since.

PHEW.

We are off to Suffolk on Sunday and I think I might "JUST IN CASE" take a spare oil filter with us of another make.

Know it sounds very Girl Guidy, but I have a ton of useless stuff "JUST IN CASE" when we go away anywhere. Sometimes we ACTUALLY USE SOMETHING FROM THIS GREAT CACHE OF GOODS

Jim has just asked me to let you all know that the dealer in Herne Bay assured us that there have not been any faulty filters of this name for at least five years. Just to let you know that as you said the faulty ones were recalled and nothing has been heard of them being bad since. He supplies these filters to a Kia, Hyundai, Mazda and Mitsubish dealer.
