Places availability/timings/train times on Cross Bay Walk have yet to be confirmed by the organisers.
Watch this space....I'll nag the organiser again this week.

Re: Steam Gathering weekend 23rd-25th July
i am thinking about the walk - heart says yes head says no - i'm a bit worried that i would hold people up - i'm not used to fast pace and with the dodgy knee and all- but then I really fancy doing it.

CROSS BAY WALK DETAILS
A 'must do once in your life' experience.
Arnside to Kents Bank
The cross bay walk led by the Queen's guide to the sands Cedric Robinson
wi8ll depart from Arnside (clock at station end of Arnside prom) at 5.00pm on Saturday 24th July.
A donation to local charity of £10 per adult (reduction for children) is payable to me on the day but you need to be registered in advance via me as places are limited. Please let me know via this forum or by pm if you want to take part.
The walk will take about 3 to 3.5 hours
The easiest way to join the walk is to travel from Kents Bank Station to Arnside Station which is only a ten minute journey.
Trains depart from Kents Bank at 12.41, 14.47 and 15.49.
I'll be catching the 15.49.
Kents Bank Station is about a 20 minute walk from the campsite at Allithwaite or a five minute drive. Free on street parking is available.
I recommend sandles as footwear with either shorts/cutoffs or trousers that can be rolled up. Be prepared to get wet to above the knees when crossing channels.
I think that that about covers it. Let me know if you want to join me.

I trust that you have got my name down for the walk Harry. I am not sure if I made my intentions to do it clear to you in my previous posts.

For those wishing to do the Steam Gathering we may be able to run a limited shuttle service for those who don't want to take their own vehicles.
So come on peeps, join us for a fun weekend with all camping proceeds going t5o support our local village hall...not some commercial campsite operator.
Looking forward to seeing you.

Re: Steam Gathering weekend 23rd-25th July
This was put to the vote against the Lincolnshire farm event on the same weekend and, partly due to Mrs Muz not feeling up to walking the Bay, the Lincolnshire event it is for us.
