What about using the very far overflow field behind the official Marquee for folks who wish to chat and chant a little later than others. That way those that prefer or need to go to bedlington earlier can do so without being disturbed. Also it is well away from the residents of the site.
This won't work; it's too close to the Residential Nursing home.

When we stay at Lickhill (or any other site) we have to abide by the rules of the site. At Lickhill the rule is noise should be kept to a minimum after 11pm. If you don't like it, don't come.

It is my responsibility to ensure that the rules are adhered to, or we won't be asked back again. Security patrols went around the perimeter up to midnight on both Friday and Saturday nights and reported no problems. The Cefn Cribwr bunch in the corner by the statics had been warned during the day to keep the noise down at night, which they adhered to, certainly up to midnight.

I received no complaints about noise, and would have taken action if I had.
It was 1:20am when it finally calmed down FACT! as I sent the "Ignorant" thread from my Iphone at that time, you maybe didn't get any complaints about the noise as people wesn't prepared to get up get dressed and come and find you, and they wasn't prepared to approach the drunken bunch either. Maybe I should have blasted my bongo horn, so you could come over to me so I could point them out to you! you have the complaints on the forum but we now know this isn't the prefered method so a cold walk across the campstie is the answer.?

isn`t it time to bring this discussion to an amicable close?most folk knew what to expect, and as kirsty said, none of the older generation minded.perhaps anyone that was offended at the time should have made their feelings known.certainly anyone i have ever met at a meet or bash, seems decent enough to be reasonable and tone it down a bit if requested.we have 3 kids, were really close to where the noise(?) was supposed to be coming from, and none of us were kept awake or woken up by excessive noise.

yes its time to bring this to an end. we all knew what to expect as on our sheets it said no excessive noise after 11pm

it kept us awake and the lady in the next bongo was woken up at 1.15

So the Older generation are a gauge on noise levels now then? what is the point of a forum discussion if if you say something that isn't all fluffy and nice, you get patronized about your feelings and how you handle a situation. It's more like a dictatorship. The fact is it happened and it shouldn't have. And people shouldn't have to go around the site asking folk to quiet down. we can all read a thread on here, but some can't read a sentence on the sheet what we all got when booking the pitch. the annoying thing is it's so simple or is it that people can read but not tell the time? maybe a masterclass on telling the time should be held :D , then one about handling a disturbance.   Let's just wait till next time and go from there. But apart from the tired drive home a great weekend!! :D :D :D

Complaints could have been made the next day to Ian, or any one of the "Yellowcoats". Admittedly this wouldn't have stopped the noise at the time, but to be honest, there isn't a lot any of us could have done anyway, we can't exactly send them to bed & short of a group of us sitting there all night to make sure they don't talk/laugh/sing etc, there's not a lot else we could do, we aren't the police, just normal people helping run the event.
I am sorry that it spoiled the enjoyment of the bash for anyone, but with the number & wide range of people on site, it's almost inevitable it's going to happen.
On the issue of snoring, even that was penetrating the bongo & carrying across the field a tremendous distance from various sources

Sorry if you feel patronised Fasthands, I was just joining the discussion with a different point of view & trying to put an alternate point of view across.
Dictatorship? :?

Ok, everyones put there points across in regards to the noise at the bash that kept some people awake till after 1, so lets all forget that situation and move on  , its in the past now and I think those were invovled will probably have read the locked thread and this one and are aware they upset a few people trying to sleep  .

Right Harry you have made a good point for future local meets, at least if people have an idea up front what to expect then no one should get upset if the party goes on a bit later than it should  , especially if they are new to the bongo meet seen or one of our meets anyhow.

Cheers Wayne =D> =D> =D> =D>

Perhaps we can now get this topic back on track..ie trying to sort out some guidelines/helpsheets/advice for future NORTH WEST/YORKSHIRE FORUM MEETS (Not official bongo fury meets).

No more harking back to the Bash please.

thanks

Well i will be going ,gonna miss ya if you don't go.

All Harry wants is for the N/W Yorkshire clans to come up with a compromise and guidelines for our meets.(not the big bash)
Its hard to get everyone to agree to a date and time of a meet never mind getting peeps to just stop enjoying themselves at 11 pm on the dot.
It can be annoying for the quiet ones like me. :^o but its part of the culture we have invented for ourselves and it does seem to get a few people annoyed ,so get your thinking caps on and give some suggestions that can be used to all our advantage. we want to be invited back to campsites otherwise whats the point, some sites are fantastic like Silverdale, i would hate for us to be barred from going there.
Give Harry our support and it then can be used for anyone else planning meets in the future.
Maybe the few who complained at the bash (not about us by the way) have given us the push we needed to sort our own little meets so all can enjoy and keep coming back, and not just for the booze and drunken antics.
Lost without my Bongo.
