Update time guys n girls. Well I thought I had it sorted the Friday before Roosters party, but I couldnt stop air getting into the IP ( started but kept cutting out). I wont bore you with everything I tried without success and im still not 100% certain that the problem is solved.

But, after many bottles of wine and contemplation, Einstiens theory of relitivity first gave me direction.

The details are a little blurred now, anyway two days latter when I came round laying in the gutter looking at the stars (and eclipse) Oscar provided the answer..............Hic. So here is the heat exchanger in its overcoat laying down.
I have removed the parts to expell air and want prove the basics first then solve any problems that arise as I may have been trying to be to clever for my clogs.
The diesel will now go straight to a Tee close to the IP making purging quicker. Im hoping to have the valves repiped tomorrow.
Keep your fingers crossed for me peeps.

It works.
Ok its early days and testing is needed. Got it working at 3pm took it down to Wheelquick to show Mike approx 4miles. I have a digital temp gauge on the heat exchanger and it was reading 60c when I got there.
Spent about 1/2 hr there even had one of Mikes potential customers intrested in it. When I got home the temp was over 70c so it is looking very promising.
The pipework at the valves was altered slightly.
The tee was removed at valve 3 and 4, the pipe from 3 goes as before to the heat exchanger. The pipe from 4 links into the hot pipe from the heat exchanger close to the injector pump. This makes for quick purging when switching back to diesel as there is only the pump to purge.
Here is a diagram of the setup.
On startup valves 2 and 4 are energised (on on switch) 4 is piped to the outlet of the fuel filter this feeds into a tee close to the IP. As can be seen the return from the IP feeds into a tee between valve 1 and 2. As valve 1 isnt open the diesel feeds into the origional return line.
When switched to veg 2 and 4 close and 1 and 3 are energised, veg is now fed via the heat exchanger to the IP. As 2 is closed veg cannot return to the diesel tank and loops back into the flow to the heat exchanger raising the temp.
Now where is the wine.
Thanks Mike, when I get it to run on water with an addative, that will be Trailblazing.

Glad you got it working GP, How long are you running on diesel before switching to veg oil?

BLOODY ELL, give me a chance MFI, only got it working this afternoon.
With our engine twin tanking is belts and suspenders, so if your heater is blowing hot (that is a technical term before you start

) no problems.

I think if you have removed that auto air vent (the one with the red cap on) it wont pull any air into the system...if that was on the suction side of the pump that is...they have a little float inside them and if there is enough suction it will drop a bit and start to pull air in.
That was a bloody good read by the way....I like your system...

Great stuff TGP - sounds like you are breaking through into clear air. Can't wait to hear further installments as the road trials progress. Keep us posted.

Thanks good response, I understand how they work, like I said, move fluid into a low speed area pressure rises, it was the possition of the FPHE that was the problem.
