North West Big Autumn Bash - 2nd - 4th October 09

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

Thanks to Harry for another great meeting at Silverdale. Sadly the forecasted weather turned out to be accurate but we still had some dry & calm spells later on. The kids (especially Hannah) had a fine time and didn’t eat anything in JetSkier’s awning [-X

Nice to meet up with the usual suspects again plus a lot of newbies this time. Also a couple (Nigel & Sue) from Carlisle doing exactly what we were doing two years ago – scouting around looking for ideas & opinions before taking the inevitable plunge.

Some pics from Team Muz.....

On the way home, we decided to grab some lunch at the chippy in Arnside (just to check that Friday evening’s success wasn’t just a fluke) and then drift around Esthwaite Water and grab the ferry across Windermere 8)

Thanks Harry for another superb meet. My keys never did turn up - something else to add to the things Catherine has lost at a meet.

Cheers H for getting this one together again. We had the usual good time although Jamie and Cam had an extra good time as they did Go Ape on saturday. Great to see the usual suspects and also meet some new comers. Thanks to Mrs hembramacho for the 'tour' of Grizedale forest . Funny.

=D> =D> =D> excellent weekend - thanks harry - did some-one say it was windy - it was sunny on thursday when we arrived - we even had a bbq and it was sunny on sunday when we left -anything in between is just a blur of laughing.I really hope this site manages to evade the nimbys and politics and stays open.WE left without the white dog but i am sorely tempted to take ben over next weekend and see if they would get on - though it has been pointed out to me that it isnt the best plan to have a white long haired dog with all the cow poo around here.

Nah - it's character building

I did however run to his aid about 10 minutes later. He found a rope swing and I was just taking this photo of him trying to do his own Go Ape thing when, through my view finder I saw him land on a rock. He took a bit of a bump to his head but survived OK. Not sure what kind of idiot would actually make a rope swing over some rocks?!

Ah yes, that was on the bank behind where we were pitched. I was snooping around there looking for a good vantage point :D

On Saturday Muzette had a hearty breakfast (see previous pics) and then icecreams etc. She was told not to have anything else to eat and off she went playing with everyone else. Muz Jr & I happened to be taking a few long-range shots and noticed her seemingly stuffing something into her mouth. Before I could get a picture as evidence she disappeared into JetSkier's awning, only to reappear a minute or so later. BINGO

Later that evening when she was loitering for her tea, I asked her if she'd had anything to eat. "No" came the less than convincing reply.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Well, WTF is this then?"
