I suggested to him that perhaps we could do a more sedate Bongo friend-Lee tour of the fire roads. He's asked me to find out if there's interest for a half day tour? The full day 4x4 one is £40

The chase has a lot of military and natural history so it would be a good day out.
We'd definitely be interested in this

I must give a HUGE thanks to Chell (B*Witched) for inviting me to join her on this little jaunt. It did seem a little odd not being in my own Bongo but Chell is a true friend who made sure I didn't feel 'lost'. She even let me share her porta potti as I didn't have a pot p*ss in    It was nice to see so many 'different ' faces. I dont mean different as in weird I mean different as in not NW crew. Honest :)
Bigs thanks to Dobby for arranging this. It's a beautiful location and to camp there was a pleasure despite the lack of facilities.
See you all soon - maybe I'll catch some of you at the Big One :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Cheers
Di

Don't worry about the four wheel drive bit, as bongo's are not suitable for off roading in the same way a chelsea tractor should be used. What I'm thinking is that the route and roads used would be suitable any bongo 2 or 4 wheel drive can do it as none of them have the right ground clearance or angle of approach to do anything radical. Had an email from Andy the Ranger and he's very keen on it. Would suggest its an overnight at Tackeroo and then a tour? We should use the fire roads similar to the ones on the site. Issues would be traction if wet, possible stone damage  and spirited driving by aspirational rally drivers? Going to try for £20 per bongo for a half day?

So far we have:

Me
Muz
Chell

Who have I forgot?

This has got to be an exceptional opportunity for some video footage

Maybe you can do a deal with him with the camping fee included, to encourage people to camp in a beautiful wilderness :D
