hi dandy more pictures i'm afraid......

i do not pretend to understand the silicone hose manufacturing process....however iam very happy with the quality of the hoses i have recieved....and have had nothing but a positive response back, not only from members who have purchased them but professionals who have fitted them.Only today i have re-ordered and would not have done so had i not been 100% happy with the product

btw ...they look even better in the flesh

DandyW - I do not think that the hose you mention is bloated,its probably just an odd picture - looks as though its about to explode!. Pic 6 of the same hose looks normal .I checked the girth on my set and they are fine

Did the manufacturer make the silicom ones as a direct copy of used originals??

Having just replaced this hose myself (with a Mazda original no less!) I can say that when you fit the hose it actually tends to pull itself in to this shape even for a new hose. The hose is only just long enough and depending on how far you pull it on to the metal fittings you may have to bend it a bit which also tends to flatten the top a little.

Have I missed the price of these - looked back and forth but cannot see one mentioned.

Mine will be fitted this Sunday at Mikes Wheelquick, by young STU the very fussy mechanic, I was watching him fit BDC 's hoses and he even covered some NEW HOSES with the original hoses in certain areas for extra protection.

Well spotted dandy!...yes, its a trick of the flash, You got me thinking though...I went out and checked,took another pic...and i get the same illusion again when viewing it through my phone...

Any techies any thoughts on the air flow gizmo on my bongo?

How long is it taking a pro mechanic to change the hoses and flush the cooling system?

hi van....cannot comment on how long the pro's took to fit big ds.....but i managed mine in an easy 3 hours.....are you tackling yours yourself?

No ,I am getting a mechanic to do the job. I would think that 2.5 hours at the outside would be about right but I will report back on exactly how long he takes because he will be fitting them at my house. A bonus is that the coolant is changed as part of the job!
If we can get an average time then it is always good to be armed with this when negotiating a fitting price if having them done by a pro mechanic .
Seems like a good investment to me bearing in mind how much ia garage would charge for major engine work should the engine blow!!

Have just had my hoses fitted at Mikes Wheelquick in Wigan, they drained the coolant, (which they said was still good and not full of rust or crap) and fitted the nine hoses that i purchased from flippa, refilled the coolant and bled the bleeding hose (sorry). Mike also noticed i had a heater motor on the back seat which i purchased from Wayne's scrapper bongo , and was going to fit myself, Mike said he will fit it free if i just give him the old heater motor that they take off, fine by me , less messing about, leisure battery and tray needed to come out to fit the motor.
I would think it took about 3 to 4 hours to do all the jobs.
About an 8 mile drive home checked coolant, small amount needed to refill, then onto Runcorn and back to pick a bongo roof rack up from Alant54 which by the way he will be making and selling if anyone is interested, 40 mile round trip, checked the coolant never moved ,brill job.
