Next act - The phone in MOT. Just transfer your money and get the certificate by email.
Took mine into 321 Away yesterday for some tweeks. The girl waiting for hers to be serviced had been scammed by him. The Bongo delivered was not the same as the one she bought. That apparently had problems and was claimed to have broken down on the way. The one that arrived had a failed alternator and stranded her hours later.

Offer him 1p as best offer on that listing and then withdraw it as you realised you've bid too much

. Not content will selling shoddy vans, he now wants to muck up other peoples perfectly good ones.

Your bongo would come out with more faults than it went in with
He's probaly after swapping bits over , but don't think he's smart enough for that

Yes probably can't find any more Bongos with serious problems to falsely sell on so he needs to create some more so he can get some fresh stock
OR

get your van in for repair tell you he's an expert and it's beyond repair offer to do you a favour and take it off your hands pay you peanuts and then he can sell on at a massive profit
OR

get your van in repair replace all your good working parts with his faulty ones so he can fix his rubbish stock or sell you your own parts back to you as yours are knackered.
OR

all of above

I could be wrong (and probably am) but in the Autotrader pics, aren't those number plates illegal on a Japanese import?

There is no problem using standard UK plates on the front. I've even seen one on the rear of a Bongo and that looked completely stupid. What you should not do is fit Japanese-size plates on a non-import.

It looks like the same guy is using Gumtree now as well, a lot of adverts for bongos in Morrisons supermarket with plastic goblets and sparkly cushions. search gumtree for bongos bristol, quite a few come up - seems to be specifying location as St Werburghs and Speedwell rather than Fishponds though
I'm glad I came on here, they look very nice inside and was very tempted until I spent a while reading!

You have to watch out for blinged up pics and words in campervan adverts generally, especialy where purchase price is low - the pics and words are there to seduce those impatiently seeking to pursue a dream......only to find themselves having a nightmare instead
These are still cars, and not even mainstream ones, and cars generally are a liability. But unlike any old car, you don't lightly scrap a campervan, because they become much more than a car to you. And so they hold potential to become a money pit.......
