I understand your caution, rekon I'd feel the same. My fear of filling up too much is fuel related, after having to use a petrol car for 11 weeks the first time I fuelled my Bongo I used petrol instead of Diesel. I still suffer from calls of "Don't forget Mum, we have a Black car so use the Black Pump" to add insult to injury I'd put in £20 - £25 's worth....

If you have an immobilser now tho that might allay your fears

Indeed!, i have two diesels and a petrol,I used to quietly mock those that got them mixed up...till i did it myself a couple of years ago!

The incident made me go a bit overboard with vehicle security, since then i have always had VERY good alarm/immobilisers fitted. Funnily enough, prior to the car getting stolen,i used to be very relaxed with vehicle security, to the point of leaving the keys in the ignition overnight occasionally! Thankfully, i had fully secured the car before it got pinched, so at least the insurance paid out...

I was lucky once, I left the keys in the car door in a multi-stroey in Swindon, went shopping had lunch like you do, and thought ooh big scary city big sary car park, get your keys out before you get to the car, couldn't find them, panicked, got to the car and found a policeman waiting to tell me off. Luckily for me they patrolled.... I didn't confess to him in doors for about 3 years...

OOh, that could have been nasty!... dont know what would have been worse...missing car or stern telling off from hubby!

My missus would never let me live it down if something got pinched and it was my fault!
I,m still in her good books i think, after chasing off the burglar a few months back....cheeky bugg3r had reached through my catflap and had nicked the back door key!
He looked more shocked than me when he looked up to see an angry looking 18stone 6ft 2inch bloke staring right at him  .... he could run,i'll give him that

:)

If you download the Bongo Fuel calculator and read the help,
it should explain the fuel reserve.
