I didnt think he was franco but wasnt sure if he was aware of the 'Complete Beginners Guide' thread from a while back. It really would be great if a BF member with the competence and experience to do it could lead us out of the darkness with a beginners guide. There's a wealth of advice on BF, some of it possibly conflicting, but properly organised it would be a real treasure (things like Dandys solar panel would make interesting 'extra' bits too). Until then I'm going to go for a battery isolator switch, 50Amp in line fuse and a pair of jump leads to connect the 2 in parallell so I can charge a spare battery sitting in the leisure battery tray I've fitted (I can manage that bit!). I'll only connect the isolator once engine started so 2nd battery not involved in high starting current. But I know this is a poor substitute for a proper relay arrangement.
