sticky geaR change and some smoke?

Post by mellyarnold » Sat Feb 10, 2007 2:45 pm

Hi all

just to let you know we had Kendo checked, gear oil was fine and didnt need replacing, reckon all you advice given was right, our mechanic specialises in bongos and said he couldnt find anything wrong at all, so feel reassured now. :P

Hi melly,
If it was very cold when you were following adam in your peugeot, it was probably condensation coming from the exhaust mixed in with some carbon deposits, which would make it look more smokey than it actually was. Also, extra fuel is fed in to the engine until the bongo has warmed up, this will contribute to the black smoke as it will be running a little rich. Glad its sorted now,i thought i,d post to reassure you...

Good news Mel - even if we were sure everything was OK, it's good when it's confirmed.

Even more worry when you do - a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, doctors make the worst patients etc. !
