Nice to know Bob. I come from a VW world of forums previously where any infringement was frowned upon. I've said this before but this forum is like a breath of fresh air it really is and I've never found such a friendly, informed and willing to help bunch of people as this one.

Gaza, It's not usual for pumps to squeal especially from new unless the bearings are already shot but you'd need to be really brutal on the belt tension for that to happen. As said previously especially with dual belts you don't need to go mad on the tensioning a half inch of travel, pushing down with your fingers along that top run is usually about right. let us know how you get on.

Oh and for the future. Pick the forum group that most fits the topic of your post and click on it. At the top of that forum will be a button for new posts. click on that and type up what you want to say/ask. People will come on and click on new posts to see what's new and anything recently added will be shown there regardless of the forum group it is in.

Update I changed the belts back to the old ones and the noise stopped so it’s not the alt or water pump. Do the belts need to broke in or are they wrong size ? They look a little thicker then the old ones.

Hm.. if they are sitting up above the pulley grooves then they are definitely the wrong size and if they are running on parts of the pulleys that have not usually been run on before then I'm not surprised they are squealing. As long as they are not above the top of any of the pulleys I think they will bed in eventually but I wouldn't be able to put up with the noise waiting for that to happen!

The belts should be 13x1100. Gates part 6474EXL or Blueprint ADM59621.

Worth noting that the alternator belts must be fitted as an identical pair.

This is really important.

The new belts are above the pulleys I got the set from Mazda bongo site I’ll take a picture. I’m going to use the old one for now and keep the new ones for emergency’s. Need to order the correct belts. Thank you for the help

Not to worry about the pic I think we have it sussed now. Have you measured the width of the belts across the widest part and how do they compare to your original belts. As long as your old belts are not cracked I'm sure they will be ok for a while. I will add a note of cautious pessimism that belts are usually fine for ages but slacken them off and stretch them again and you may rue the day
