No the light will stay on till the voltage on the SB falls below the trigger level normally around 13.8v, remember its powered all the time. It will take maybe 30 minutes in some cases before the voltage returns to resting level.

Appreciate all the help guys!!
I have a day off tomorrow so will take a look in daylight and tidy up my wiring and monitor it over the next few days. I have a digital display in the van so can monitor the voltage of both batteries fairly easily.
I've learnt and achieved a fair amount today with help from you all so thanks again I appreciate your time and knowledge.
