Also when I raise the roof the small roller balls on either side no longer roll - they drag 😖 any ideas how to fix 🤔

Clean off any grease and oil that has been used to lubricate the tracks!! Then make sure there is no grit left behind.
The wheels roll in the track, but people tend to grease and oil them, just like the grease the road there vehicles run on (NOT) ;-)
