No thats for the electronic version, which controls a transistor with a bypass relay for the highest speed. Baz says he has an older mechanical slider version which uses the speed control resistors each resistor has its own thermal fuse and an additional one for the whole lot.

The Electronic Climate control module is like this inside

if you have it in your hand baz there are several little pieces of metal that are split and spread open to hold the plastic cover on the head. squeeze these together so the plastic cover comes off then you will see the desoldered springy legs that need resoldering, refit the cover and your sorted.

failing that i have one of each model here that i have repaired and dont need, i will pass them to ian or are you going to hope, you said you wernt going in the bongo but are you going.
