He is busy, might be worth a text setting out the problem and ask a good time to call or ask him to text back. [-o<

TheHills, sounds like you are well on the ball and covering all the bases.

It must be a busy time of year for Bongo dealers but I'd persevere with contacting Ian. After all he sold you the warranty and also the Bongo. Both have to be fit for purpose. I don't know the seller at all and this is a generic statement: too many sellers hide behind warranties however a warranty does not reduce the seller's legal obligations to describe a product accurately and ensure it is fit for purpose. I'm no lawyer and appreciate that it may not be straightforward but it is usually worth keeping the pressure on the seller, warranty or no warranty, as you may have a bit of law on your side as well as the seller's reputation.

I could be wrong and am not certain but I believe Ian Taylor provides his own warranty (much better than those worthless 3rd party things) and is good at honouring it, but it's a return to base affair I suspect and, as others say, if it's the busy season I could see him being backed up with work. Keep trying him, and keep us posted.

Alas
" The previous owner got a three-year warranty from Ian Taylor, and there was still a fair bit left when he sold it on to us."

I would check the T&G and make sure that the insurance policy is Transferable?.

Good Luck.

Good point rita. It's not unreasonable for even Ian Taylor to want to have limits. I think he's pretty good about fixing stuff where there might have been sold with a pre-existing problem but...

And we're not certain the diff is the problem.

Reading back the symptoms seem to be lack of power, especially when cold.

Could the diff really be causing this? :?

Sigh. How I loved flowers in the rain, and hearing the grass grow. And then I had to move - the fire brigade were heading down my street in Blackberry Way. And then everything went to pot and I became a teenage peatbag

Some forums expect a perfect answer from each contribution. The power of this forum is the cooperative and consultative nature of our contributions. Just look at Bill and Ben, where would we be....? (Actually my comment is made in all seriousness 8) )

Last time Ben was downtown embibing zider, he got caught short and actually sat and weed ON a flowerpot. The flowerpot thought maybe he had kinky urges until I explained that nah, he was just tiddled and widdled.

Thought I'd update on this...

Went to the place near Gatwick in the end - AVA Leisure - based on the recommendation from this thread.

Spoke to Vaughan who was excellent and correctly diagnosed the problem as the turbo, and nothing to do with the diff. One turbo rebuild later and she's running better than she ever has and we're very happy bongonauts once again.

Thanks to all for the helpful and amusing posts and a big thumbs-up for Vaughan at AVA Leisure.

As for Lakeside - lets just say that we definitely won't be taking the Bongo there again.
