Which pipe have you had fitted?

If it's from the domestic (drinking) water pump to the sink it isn't Bongo specific and won't do any harm (other than not working) if there's more problems with it.

If the pipe is part of the cooling system correct bleeding is vital. 8)

Fitting a low coolant alarm doesn't involve fitting any pipes. :|

in contrast, the above really is good advice, and the bit I've highlighted in red is NOT optional. If the cooling system has been broken into at any point bleeding is a must before it's driven anywhere.

Hiya guys - think we are at cross purposes here.
(1) Its the pipe from the onboard water tank that's newly been fitted and the garage didn't bother to see if it worked or not, basically just replaced the leaky pipe (which was originally working ie water came through the tap).
(2) I called Fantastic Campervans and they said they could fix the water pump problem and when I asked about a coolant alarm, he said it shouldn't be needed as he said it would be drilling into things we shouldn't be drilling into!!!
Basically I AM getting a coolant alarm fitted today at Campers Scotland, but they do not repair vehicles not bought from them, so therefore they won't repair the onboard water pump problem.
As I'm not mechanically minded I don't know how to probe the impellor etc.. Thanks for your advice and comments!!..

If it's the water tank for the taps/sink in the conversion then I'd do what Bob said and take it to a caravan/motorhome place - I'm sure they'll be able to help out with the pump. I'm sure the one fitted in your Bongo isn't made just for a Bongo and they'll probably have seen it before so should be able to help out! :D

You need a low coolant alarm on a bongo that is a must have. If your bongo has not been driven on salted roads and looks in good condition underneath I would get it waxoiled, certainly with all the dry conditions we have had recently the underside should be fairly dry. A local garage near me in eastlothian (about 1hrs drive for you) wax oiled mine every 2-3 years for a reasonable price never had an issue underneath.
