The consumer unit is only a box with connecting rails for MCB's and RCD, it won't have anything else in it! Any additional items will be cabled from the consumer unit, but at the last few Bash's I have seen several recent conversions where NOTHING else was fitted at all, this never used to be the case but seems to be the cheaper solutions that are now being installed :-(

If you don't have one
Buy one of them trickle charge battery charges and wire it permanently to the battery and 240v
Job done
Will be on charge every time you hook up
Think the guys on here recomend a lidl one for £25 ish
Gas safe heating engineer / plumber if you need any advice just shout.
