David Bowie RIP

Talk about non-Bongo stuff. BUT KEEP IT CLEAN....there are children watching. Smut, filth, and anything offensive will not be tolerated and removed immediately.

Was that the one with the column change that used to tie the linkage in knots?

Peter

PS - sounds like there could be some really good musicians or ex musicians on here. What would be the chances of getting a Bongo Band together for one, and one only gig?

Could be a laugh, I wonder where/when/how? I have a digi piano and amps..

Ah yes, the old 30cwt long wheelbase Transit fitted with aircraft seats. Happy memories....of sorts ha ha.[/quote]

30cwt Tranny and airplane seats?? Luxury, mate. My first pro band (no names) had a 15cwt Commer. I slept in pig netting hung from the roof by butcher's hooks.. (getting the violins out now, ha ha! ). At least we survived the music biz, unlike a lot of good friends :( :(

Well we did have Island Records behind us and we were touring the UK - we'd probably have died from carbon monoxide poisoning if we'd had to use a Commer van (if you could source a suitable one in 1977). The Lwb transit was standard stuff for touring bands back then. Ours was old and we paid £100 for it - it just about got us around the tour.
