There is a camp site in Widnes about 2 miles out of the town centre, but it would be very cold at this time of year.

Hi got an alarm got fire extinguisher, it's got an eberspatcher heater it just won't run off Lb?

Yeah winchman am very tempted, however the wife may have issues with the said predisposition of thos using the site

Sounds like your getting a voltage drop in the wiring from battery to the heater, is it hanging off the existing ancillary wiring rather than its own wiring back to a suitable fuse I wonder, the wiring to the rear cigarette socket is well known to be under rated.

I have no idea I bought the Bongo of a chap from T2 Bongos York. I needed a full side conversion as he only does the sink /hob conversions.This was his hire bongo
That I took a shine too, it was converted by elite camperconversions I believe they no longer exist. The unit does look a bit tired but I have no idea if it's connected to internal wires or LB it's not far away from the pms unit at the back but still I've no idea.

Eberspacher spinning up then shutting down is indeed sign of low supply voltage. The initial power consumption is quite high but once it has got up to temperature it drops right down. Assuming the heater we properly installed with suitable cabling, and as the van is ex-hire, I would suspect the LB is a little tired.

Hi it was only a hire bongo for two months it hardly got used, as for the LB it's brand new form Halfords 115ah

Could it be fuel starvation then? Night heaters have to have good clean fuel, is a line/filter blocked? Is it fed from the main fuel tank or does it have it's own?

All questions to stimulate investigations

Its been an Urban Myth for many years, but it lunched a web site a few years ago, I found it by chance when looking for a local site to try a camper van out at, no we didn't go either. LOL

I would use one in any vehicle you are using a naked flame in, so cooker will produce Carbon monoxide as will a propex or eberspatcher, I know they are sealed and take combustible air and exhaust out side but in certain weather conditions the fumes can re enter the vehicle, I remember at least one case of some one with a blocked exhaust caused fumes to enter the vehicle from a gas heater, and a mate of mine whose Eberspatcher fumes were re entering the vehicle through the fridge vents.

Ok so I'm finished driving for the day in my bongo, currently using gas to boil water in a pan.

That should work without the engine running

As said you can get 12v microwaves ( dangerous things tho )

Someone on here uses one and left there bongo in gear and gave the engine a few revs from outside and off went the bongo and dinner I think ( story's a sticky on home page thingy )

I have a lot of respect for you buddy. That's some proper and respectable work spirit right there ! But be safe and heed what these good people are saying we want you around on here a lot longer.

The tips on using gas, a carbon monoxide detector and getting a really good quality four season sleeping bag are very good advice. Be safe and I hope you make it comfortable and safe sooner rather than later.
