Bongo Fury

There is a small fan behind the grill to 'sample' the interior air temperature .. it can get gobbed up with dust and dog hairs (well mine can) ..



This sensor is located at the right hand corner of the windscreen .. do not cover as it measures the heat from the sun coming through the glass ..



Another neglected item is the drain on the bonnet gutter .. if it gets gobbed up water will flood over the electrics and may cause the heater fan to go kaput ..

Is that the climate control models only?

It appears that I have the adjusting toggle for the mirrors, but not the retracting button.

I have the sun sensor (but I don't think mine is climate control, just a blue to red dial to twist) and the small fan in the dash, I'll check the drain on the bonnet next time I can get to it when it's light.

I had a quick check of the tyre change kit - mine looks like it has never been used, what should be in there? I have a jack, tyre lever, some sort of feet that I assume are for the jack and what looks like a strange large flat spanner. Is that everything?

The 'Feet' are likely chocks for securing the vehicle before jacking.

A tyre lever is not standard but you should have a round bar, about 18" long with a square end and a T end. This is for lowering/raising the spare.

You operate it with the jack rachet.

I've just been out to check again and the T bar is there, I missed it because it is very neatly clipped to the top of the jack compartment. I'll have a go on Saturday when I can see what I'm doing in the daylight! Hopefully it won't be snowing.

No worries, it is well worth checking out the kit before you need it at the side of the road on a wet night.

Yes, definitely.I'm also thinking that I will be glad of a full size spare if I get a puncture with the Bongo fully laden in the middle of France or Spain!

A full size spare fits in OK ..

It's a good idea to test and lube up the mechanism with plenty of penetrating oil / then grease as it is prone to seizing ..

I don't think my jack / kit had ever been out ..

Wheel nuts can be a pig with the little brace supplied.

I don't carry on as much as Bob but like him I carry a socket and extension arm as much better than a standard wheel brace.

I'll speak to my Proof Reader.

I use a breaker (nut cracker) in the garage but I keep a telescopic wheel brace in the Bongo ..

Open it long to 'crack' the nuts .. shorten it to tighten ..
