As described in first para above! Remove air scoop above radiator, you will see a box with the fan behind / below it. Check that the fan turns freely if it doesn't then remove and clean the motor.
Only after fixing the motor repair the fuses. There is a full fact sheet with pictures etc. If your a club member.

Ok. Got excited about fixing it and gave it ago.
Checked the fan and it was spinning freely. Took out the resistor and the 2 parts had pinged off.
5min solder, back in and the fans still working and the aircon is blowing. Thanks for your help.
I think it is OK. Not 100% still but maybe I am just used to a aircon on a brand new car.
Any other suggestions on how to increase aircon efficiency. I think everything is working because i can hear the compressor kicking in and the engine working harder.
I only tested it stationary, would it make a difference if actually driving.
Going to france in 2 weeks so fancy some cold aircon!

I havent cleaned any of the filters or the cooling matrix.
Could someone point me in the right direction of where these are and tips on cleaning?
Thanks again

Another question!
Can you purchase the replacement filters for the air con. I ask because as it happens I got mine re-gassed two weeks ago and it is still not as cold as I expected despite the bloke putting ammeter on it and saying it was within range? If I can get them I will replace the and see what happens. Mine blows on all positions so the fans or switches are not at fault.

Hi
No filters on the early models, I don't know about later Bongos. The problem with not having filters, is that all manner of muck and dried insects get wedged in the matrices, and they really need blasting out with a high pressure line occasionally!...after cleaning, you might want to stick a piece of fine mesh over the intake just after the air scoop...taped on before you replace the intake
Cheers
Helen
