That would be far more typical - a difference of about 15% or so.

If a petrol was doing about 3000rpm at 80 like a diesel that would imply a theoretical top speed of about 150.

3000 @ 70 would give a more sensible theoretical top speed of around 120.

Looking at Lush projects, the rear Diff diagram does not differentiate between V6 and Diesel however there are "final gear" variations but I do not think there is much between them as they are grouped into different Chassis number ranges - for example "SGLR -113897 SGLW -112212 SGL3 -105785 SGL5 -112526 SG5W -103465" - so it makes me think they are the same or at least differences in ratio's are minimal (unless I am not reading the diagrams correctly).

In the meantime, I am going to try and source the oil seals more cheaply and not the £36 odd on ebay and alike. If anyone knows a good Mazda parts supplier - that would be appreciated.
