Hello everyone I just joined here and introduced myself briefly on newbie thread.

Had a Bongo for a year now and last year spent many happy weeks and long weekends with my husband and 2 dogs loving our camper. Very sadly my husband died after a short but aggressive illness this winter and am now facing alone (with my 1 remaining dog, who is elderly). I myself am no spring chicken in years having reached the latter half of fifties.
My husband did join here but we did not come to any meets last year despite thinking about it often, the timings never fitted in with his work demands.

However I have taken the plunge and booked on the Welsh Bash in April, with a little trpidation about how I will cope but also determination.
I hope you are friendly :D know you will be as Bongo owners we have met in our travels on sites have been, and can be called upon to help if I get in a mess with anything. I have AFT V6 with lizard decal on bonnet.

Looking forward to meeting some you. Bev.

Hi Bev

Very warm welcome, and I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.

Me and Su are the same age as you and we'll be at the Welsh, I promise you won't find a better crowd of people.

Just ask anyone if you need a hand, ours is a black AFT with 999 on the reg.

Hi Bev, you won't regret coming along. I'm a solo camper with an ageing dog in your same age bracket, and Bob and Sue. Look forward to meeting you. Have you booked electric or non- electric? We'll be in the non-electric section. Look for the flag!

Initial reports from advanced party on site say that it has stopped raining but ground is very wet. Also, most of the pitches are sloping, so take chocks if you have them.

Hi everyone I met on Welsh Bash, my first trip to a Bongo meet and first trip alone.
Lovely to meet people. Gorgeous Welsh folk, who came from nearish locations. Hi Ray and Jen, thanks for lovely chats and borrow of binoculars to view the "UFO". Their neighbours with Zack too.
Thanks Carol for setting us up, and everything else (HUG, much appreciated) Jilly, Marge, Marion and Mary for chats, dog walks on beaches and companionship/solidarity and of course Trish (Great to meet your super daughters too.) Thanks to all those in the pub Saturday eve. Ian, Bob and Sue for friendship. Thanks to Simon and Coralie for showing me what is what under bonnet and pointing to me to LPG Shell in Swansea. To Hayden, Baz, Susie, Paul for assistance with bed clips on first night or awning roll up on last day (delete as appropriate). Apolgies if I have forgotton to mention anyone, I did appreciate you all. I had a lovely time as did my my old dog Holly, though must admit the wind scared me at night, but was worth it for the sun we did get, in such a beautiful location on a lovely situated site. I had a good run home. 5 hours, not bad, but some extremely heavy showers around Bristol/Swindon. When I got home it had not rained at all. North Bedfordshire is one of driest places in UK!
Hope to see some of you again soon. Think the next meet I can make will be the one in Dent, Cumbria. BEV

Hi Bev,
Glad you got home okay, I reached home about 5.30 after leaving at 2ish, so not bad. Met lots of rain as well.
I'd also like to thank everyone for being so friendly and welcoming, on my first, but certainly not last, Bongo meet. Great to meet you all.
I was amazed by the sudden appearance of so many helping hands when Bev and I had only just taken my new awning out of its bag. It was up in no time. The same with taking it down again on Sunday, and Jilly's knowhow and tips have all been logged. Baz's superb timing of appearing just as we were zipping up the bag has been noted, but he was good company round Swansea and Mumbles, so forgiven this time.
Tom, you left along with all the other fairweather campers before I could return your LED's. Hope to see you at a meet soon so that I can return them to you. They came in very handy so thanks for the loan.
Also, to Trisha and daughters, Marg, Haydn, Su and Bob, Paul, and others who I met, will remember all names soon I hope, it was great spending time with all of you.
Also, definitely not forgetting Ian, Marianne and Carol for all the organising they did on our behalf.
I am attempting to remove myself from a previous arrangement so that I can join you all at the June bash.
Happy camping to all of you,
Marion.

Marion, welcome to the Forum.

Great to meet you and Bev, and catch up with lots of old pals.

This was a top notch Meet, thanks to all who were there and to the Bongomeister and team for sorting everything.

Having talked about avoiding the bus times so as not to meet it as we dragged the shed out I forgot and met said bus in the narrow bit. Full marks to the driver who made his bus disappear into a small side road for us.. =D>

Looking forward to the next one.
