Good find Mike. Interestingly, it indicates the transfer box it is good for 'lifetime vehicle'. It's also got the fuel consumption figures, but I think it best not to look at those .

ALL oils should be changed at some point. Filled for life - what does that mean? Think about it. When the transmission or transfer box fails that's the end of its life! Regular oil changes will lengthen that life.

Many auto gearboxes - my field - are filled for life according to the vehicle manufacturer. BMW, Audi, Jaguar & Land Rover to name but a few who use ZF transmissions & claim 'lifetime fill' see here for what ZF themselves say about it.

Also sometimes a component (lets say transfer box) may develop a very slight leak from somewhere that isn't obvious. Over the years it will get low on oil & damage will result, regular preventative servicing (as NathM is suggesting) will pick that up sooner rather than later.

Remember though - use a good quality CORRECT oil. Oil is an engineered component like any other vehicle part, using the wrong/poor quality oil can do more harm than good. Cheap often isn't cheap in the long run.

and i think if a few people remove the magnetic drain plug they'll confirm that its not quite as clean in there as expected! Dont wait til your in the middle of nowhere with a mashed up transfer chain/box! and become a statistic of 'I've never heard of a transfer box problem'

yes, millers, in my opinion the best oils you can get, expensive yes, but 3 years after changing EVERY fluid in my bongo its never missed a beat.

mines a 4wd manual box and thrashed every day------------, but maintained regularly. .

Thanks, will try to find some. Did you also use this in transfer box, yes suppose you use everywhere even in manual gearbox.

yes, in STANDARD diffs/transfer box and manual box.

on the wifes i used the same for diff but millermatic atf DM, MAKE SURE ITS DM AS THERE IS A UN,LOWER SPEC.
