No, with the Ignition switched method then the relay is not operated whilst the Ignition is OFF and the two batteries are isolated from each other.

If your able to wire a Battery Charger up to the vehicle are you not in a position to get a Mains to Hook-Up cable and just plug your vehicle is as you would on a campsite ? See http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mains-Adapter ... 41776d3b3c

Or another option would be to use two separate chargers, one for each battery.

g8dhe wrote:Yup Willinton uses the Voltage Sensitive Relay, you will some times here it clicking after you have switched off the engine, so provided the charger will put the voltage up above that of the relay switching point it will charge both batteries, some small mtce. type chargers might not get the voltage high enough so if your not sure just check after a day or two, also be wary of the 3 stage/phase type chargers they can get confused when the relay pulls in halfway thru the process!

just had this never heard it before..dont seem to be a problem.

If you mean the clicking of the relay then no its not a problem at all, its doing what its meant to do!
Its just that some people don't expect it, because having switched the Ignition off they believe everything is turned off.
