Hi Mike, I saw that post and I also got the guy who's working on my Bongo to read through it but he's still not clear on the best course of action - I don't think what he's seeing exactly matches Alacrity's list. As far as he can see the converter neck shows no sign of damage and he's also concerned with the issue of fitting a used replacement without knowing it's definitely serviceable. I'm hoping for a bit more info to give me steer - I need to jump one way or another tomorrow!

Just a quick update on this, mainly for future reference if anyone gets the same issue. If faced with a leaking gearbox (between box and Torque Converter) and the question is do I:
A) Change the seal
B) Replace the box
The answer is B!
2nd time lucky, she's back on the ramps. Ho hum

So are you saying you changed just the seal & it is still leaking so you are going to change the 'box? If so, why? (on two counts, why change only the seal which was never going to work & why change the 'box rather than have the leak properly fixed - assuming the 'box hasn't been smoked to death by being driven when badly low on oil)
