A long shot,have you maybe got the positive and negative the wrong way round.
Or the alarm might be too sensitive to the higher voltage.

Mixing up the wires would not cause the alarm to sound.........having the sensor wire disconnected would......

Do you mean the header tank sensor?
Im totally confused here, may as well rip the thing out if it doesnt work properly.

Yes...if the header tank sensor wire is disconnected the alarm will sound......don,t rip it out.....it is a good bit of kit that could save your engine one day....

Typo caused by auto correct in my previous post.
I posted an image of how my coolant alarm and Willinton kit was wired into the fuse board on your previous post about the Willinton kit. I was wondering if you wired yours like this?

dome-e- my willinton is currenly disconnected as is my coolant alarm. Til i get to the bottom of the bloody thing keep going off its going to stay that way.
Didnt see your pic but would be interested in seeing it.
To recap: New starter battery fitted (correctly) no fiddling/moving coolant alarm wires (yet), cleaned alarm screw, topped up coolant, alarm sounding constantly after initial chirrup on starting.
Sorry to go on but id like to try and sort it, the willinton kit and coolant alarm arent cheap pieces of kit but i feel like ive wasted a few quid here.

At the end of the day the alarm will prove to be working.......something has happened whilst fitting the battery/split charge kit....
No reason to rubbish 2 excellent bits of kit that hundreds/thousands of bongos have fitted.

If the alarm chirps/flashes when you turn the key before starting....it is fine.....

Dont get me wrong, im not rubbishing anything. Im just trying albeit frustratingly to get it sorted.
So by it chrirruping means its working okay how does it explain the constant sounding?
Feels like im going round and round in circles here.

after the engine has started the alarm is constantly sounding.

If I was in your position I would remove the alarm and refit it according to the instructions.
What is the voltage reading across the battery terminals with the :-
Key out of the ignition ?
Ignition on ?
Engine running ?

Then..
Measure the voltage between the sensor screw head and earth, again as above 3 times.

Rewired as per instructions with live feed from fuse number 16
Volts across battery 12.65
Volts ign on 12.63
Engine running 13.92
Volts between sensor screw head and earth
Across battery 0.65
Ign on 8.65
Engine running 9.98
