I wasn't really commenting on yours Mike, it just worries me that people think that there is a "Locking mechanism" to me that means that something happens that means it can't possibly move under any circumstances, I'm not sure that I count the mechanism above as that! It just moves to a position that isn't going to be affected by vibration etc. I can't see that any additional mechanism is needed either for that matter!
I think its much more important that people understand how it works, and can spot when it isn't normal, the problem we have is that the main notification system - the bleeps - people ignore or actively disconnect - the bleeps are the primary warning system in the Bongo and whilst they might have gone overboard, ignoring them isn't really the answer either
Infact, I wonder if stopping the bleeps in total, could these days count as an MOT failure under the new rules ?
