Changed fuel filter. poured bottle of redex in certenly better but still there under load quite loud is it worth moving fuel pump

Might it be worthwhile nursing it over to Bell Hill Garage to see if they can get it sorted. Not too far off for you, and they know Bongos:

Interesting it is worse under load. Makes me think it is not so much a mechanical problem, as a tuning one. I'm not techie but I'd have thought you could try moving the pump PROVIDED you scribe the current position and can restore it to its original setting. I think I was told it only takes a minute movement to put the tuning out.

Hi Adam,you stated that "if you move the fuel pump, it will stop for 2 mins then comes straight back weird."It does sound timing/fuel related.

does the noise sound like something hitting the piston ??. glow plug tip or valve ??. maybe as brywy said go fishing with a magnet on a probe.

But make bl**dy sure the magnet doesn't come off the probe when its in the hole
I'd eliminate the tuning suspects first - you'd think it would make a noise under any running conditions if the mechanic had dropped his small change in a pot before putting the lid back on (not strictly true but....).
