Hi,could you give me a link to the bongo database please.
Thanks.
i wish i could rita, but i cannot. this is the official mazda bongo database that is linked to mazda's jap computer.
if you go into any mazda dealers they have all the parts lists/drawings for uk/european models on 1 computer, and another that links to japan via another server. this one has all the bongo drawings on it, and all the part numbers etc. my local guy is very good and lets me play on it sometimes, but sometimes he has problems accessing the data and has to wait until the japs give him access, time differences and all that.
the drawings are very similar to the manual drawings and lush projects data.

The pipes are forward of the engine on the driver's side. By lifting the driver's seat you can see the large rubber hose but you won't be able to see the steel pipe or the location of the sealing cap without craning your neck. I could see where the water was dripping but had to stick the camera forward facing down between the front of the engine and the body to see the drip's source.
I've ordered the sealing cap from my local Mazda parts dept and have assembled the bits for the bleed. Will need to wait for the weekend when some willing helpers will be coming round (by willing helpers I mean some friends who are coming round to watch the finale of the Tour de France but are going to have to earn their keep).
Have a watch of the bleeding vids on you tube,i was a bit nervous about bleeding my Bongo for the first time but the vids are really helpful, and to be honest its not that bad to do,you just need a bit of patience and a spare hour(ish)

I'm pretty handy and willing to have a go at most jobs and being an eternal pessimist I watched the videos before I even bought my Freda having read the discussions and in anticipation of a leak occurring at some time in the future. At the initial watching it looked too big a task for me but now a leaks occurred and I'm more familiar with the van I'm confident to just get on with it and it'll be a lessen learned for the future.
Fortunately it occurred at home this time so I'll be adding the bleeding kit to my toolbox onboard along with some amalgamating and cloth tapes in case of emergencies when I'm away.

Have changed the sealing cap in an 'It's A Knockout' kind of way. Overfilled the expansion tank, then working blind from the driver's footwell I pulled off the old cap before quickly sticking the new one on without losing too much coolant. The old cap did have a hole in the side as a result of the jubilee clip.
When collecting the cap I spoke to the guy at the Northampton Mazda parts dept about access to the Mazda Bongo parts database, or EPC as he called it. He said they would be happy to give access to the EPC database in store and would be willing to order a part based on a part number from the lushprojects database but added that they prefer to work from the vehicle's chassis number to get the best match. I mentioned I had a Freda so it may not be on the Mazda database anyway but he'd willing to order parts from a part number.

One further question has come to mind having watched the videos for bleeding a Bongo. At the end of the third video Hadyn reiterates that the tank and funnel must always contain coolant but then doesn't explain what to do should the level drop in either.
If the level drops in either at the cold see-swing stage then I assume you just start the whole process again and Kirsty covers all eventualities for what to do at the funnel end when the engine's running but what's the recovery process if the level drops in the expansion tank once the engine's running and hot?
My own thoughts are to switch off the engine, carefully check level in the radiator, top up tank, carefully open radiator to clear air between it and the tank, ensure right coolant level in tank and funnel, switch on engine and start again at the see-sawing stage.
Any thoughts welcome.

the freda is just the same, ive been ordering via the vin for years for our 2 freda's at mazda
as in any parts ordering for any car, best to use the vin as there may have been changes/improvements that you are not aware of. the vin produces a build spec.
some have access to the vin via the reg number.

on the bleeding thing.
on the diesel if you let the exp tank go dry this will introduce air into the heater circuit.
the small pipe that leaves the exp tank tee's into the heater loop just before the stat housing.
i believe it also acts as a fast vent for steam if it boils in the head, this is where the kettling noise and steam comes up and out to the tank cap.
im not familiar with the v6 plumbing, it may be differnt.
