back end slide at round abouts....any ideas why?

both myself and the wife have noticed a couple of times when wet, the rear end slides out a bit on round abouts.normally only when your niping about round town,and not when taking it easy

Sure this will happen in any rear wheel drive car ,but not noticed it before like this.??? but we have just put our rear seats back in so guess the extra weight wouldnt help things
All tyres are good with pleanty of tread on them

Know iam due to change front drop links,and ball joint,track rod ends,but cant see how that would effect the rear end....

Anyone else getting this at the moment? did think it was just a patch of diesel at 1st but i took it out tonight and had the same thing happen to me.

have you got a lim slip dif? are you lifting off the throttle when it happens or accelerating? roundabouts can be very greasy, I know this only too well as a biker and the surface is often worn and deformed. i have had the back step out once when turning right and accelerating to get into a gap and I know someone who has done a 360 in a Bongo when not going particularly fast. I think you have to be light footed when it is wet maybe.

nope did the search and found out we have a normal diff,even that ive got a yelloe dob of paint on the diff which is ment to show that it has a lsd.

To double check if you have a Limited Slip Diff, lift the back wheels off the ground, spin one wheel by hand, if the other wheel spins the same direction then you probably have an LSD if it spins the other way you have a normal "open" diff. It is only a rule of thumb though, some obscure types of LSD don't react that way and if your open diff is tight they will both spin the same way.
