Is petrol not the thing to use?

White spirits works well and turps,
or try WD40

Thanks to all of you. Used hair dryer and finger nails. Plus auto Glynn tar remover, T cut and polish.

Started the job yesterday. Used hair dryer my thumb nail and Auto Glym Intensive Tar Remover. Very pleased with result.

Got the decals off. Problem now is quite thick glue on paintwork. Auto glym doesnt remove it so is petrol the best or one of those toffee wheels?

Try petrol first
i would be very hesitant to use a toffee wheel now, what you need to look out for now is that the glue hasnt penatrated into the paint.
which can happen with decals that have been on for so long.

Got the glue off in the end. Used non scratch bathroom scouring pads with auto glym intensive tar remover, a credit card, loads of elbow grease and then T Cut and Turtle Wax Polish. Long laborious job but now looks like decals were never there. Wish I had had the nerve to use the toffee wheel.
