Sorry forgot about the compressor going on and off, I wonder if the 85w rating is an average, or just whilst its running?
The problem I have with compressor fridges in campers is the noise, but thats just personal , oh and the cost

It should be the rating of the motor so only when running - they have no way of knowing how hot/cold it will be so how can they tell how long it will be running for to work out an average.

They aren't all noisy we had one in the Toyota we borrowed in NZ and you could hardly hear it running.

CF-18 Waeco... 4 days in high summer at 20c plus on 110ah inc TV/Satellite/Lights ........
as for noise...... errr not as you would notice...
The noise myth has been banded about for many years in the Caravan circles.... it really is not an issue....even if it was...... a compressor fridge beats ant other hands down every time...... why do VW et al fit them as standard....
