ive just had a look at a spare head (under the bed) , if its a gen mazda head, which it looks like it is, there is a core plug between exhaust out 1 and 2. and one between 3 and 4, but not one between 2 and 3.
the first picture shows the leakaround port 2 so its possible

As I traced the leak up from the tray yesterday, my sense of panic at the coolant I pictured, made me run for help. :oops:
Thanks to your suggestin teenmal, I had another look and......... HOW THE DEVIL DID I MISS THIS?

Hi,the part No is 993062000 sealing cap/core plug/etc its called a lot of names.

These cost approx £1.00--£2.00 each,best to buy from a Mazda dealer in order to get the correct profile.

GREAT! Part ordered and here tomorrow.

When the garage fix it, will they need to drain the coolant first?
I think this could be an opportunity to change some hoses and flush the system.
