What Julian is saying is that if you have purchased NGK brand of glow plugs then you most certainly have the short 82mm plugs as NGK do not make the longer 102mm glow plugs.

Hi Tony,

The later glow plugs RF1M18601, cross ref in the Mazda electronic parts manual as NGK Y-721RS.

These plugs retail about £18/20 each.

Just a bit of useless information. :)

Thanks, that's news to me. Every previous post that I have seen appeares to have confirmed the non availability of 102mm NGK glow plugs.

You can tell if you have the longer ones by looking at the screw cap part at the top, it is longer than normal. I got the wrong ones first time because I did not check.

By the way have you noticed that Stuc lives not very far from you?

Tony
Yes I gather Stuc lives close by, not sure where tho' If he read this then he may come to the party?
I thought you were changing glow plugs, if it was a party i'd be there.
I live at Ryton, near Blaydon but if you ever need a hand just shout I aint done many big jobs on the bongo but It is handy to see how stuff is done. Why dont we meet up one night then at least we know who each other is if we need help. I have some good contacts in the motor trade.

#-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o .thanks for the info, ive just spent a few days adapting new short ngk plugs by extending the height, to fit my should be long plug bongo. still, the price differential makes it poss worthwhile. .
