So, contrary to popular belief, you can polish a turd.
It looks fantastic. I enjoy detailing (oh the pleasure of stroking freshly clayed paintwork) but the problem is that all the little imperfections and scratches become monstrous carbuncles .
I use Collinite waxes for their (hopefully) lasting properties and then a detailing spray after each wash and dry to keep the shine and help with water beading. The Bongo/Freda is such a doddle to keep looking good as its primarily large flat panels.

You're right. It would look smarter ha ha. But seriously, more than one person has observed how the dark metallic colours and their lacquer seem to age especially well. Why should that be?
Great job in that Bongo - well done.

Thanks for all the compliments. It really was worth the effort.
As for the offers to do others... D'you know, I would! Lol. For a price. I've often thought I should start my own detailing business.
The problem with the bongo... yes they are nice big panels, but they are BIG panels. Even the bonnet took me nearly 3hours alone! Admittedly it was the worst (apart from the spoiler) but even so, I spent 19hrs over 3 days doing it. I expect I could do another in 2 full days but even at £10/hr you'd only be looking at £160-£200 less my products £50-£100 a go! Best case is £150 for two days HARD work... I don't think so! So I would have to charge £300-£400 to detail it properly, and how many people can afford that in these times of economical hardship?
Nice thought though.
Oh and thats just the outside!! The insides another day!
