Got some awning rail given, but it is about a foot short of the caravanstore bag at either end, will it matter that the bag isnt attached right to the ends?

Possibly, from memory you have two stops that screw in to the rail to stop some one just sliding it out.

I've got them but it is the bag that is longer than the rail, so will the awning be supported enough.

Difficult to say, I would drop an Email to the manufacturer.
If the rail is shorter whats to stop it falling out of the rail whilst driving?

Now some one has very kindly given me a set of Fiamma Gutter mount brackets and I have them in my hands it easier to come up with some mounting ideas and these look the best way to go as I feel I can add the caravan store with out increasing the van hight very much.

Its gonna be jammed underneath the roof, so it shouldnt move. I'm gonna mount the rail same as B*witched Blingo's.

Will the roof still engage the lock and be watertight?

Didnt realise, mines a tin top so rail needs to be slightly longer than the bag

I made the rail to fit a 2.3 bag ,so allowing an inch either side to fit the locking slugs which stop it sliding out of the rail when travelling Trouble is the s/h bag I got hold of is too long - it is a 2.5. The rail stays and the bag has to go ! So watch your sizes

yes its ok, there is enough give in the rubber to provide a good seal without distorting the roof. was fitted like this for over a year with no problems.
