I had this the other day, both batteries went flat and the battery and sediment light were intermittently on.

I took a look and the earth lead to the alternator was really corroded so I cleaned the lead connector up to bright metal using a file and sandpaper and hey presto - it works :D :D :D

Saved myself a small fortune in not buying another alternator :D :D :D

I had alternator issues, but I didnt have any lights on when I turned the ignition key at all, loads of head scratching and trying to fix it, in the end I bought a second hand one, and decided to open my old one up, first thing I noticed was the five small nut on the rear of the casing were very loose, anyway opened it up nowt out of place or broken put it back together and tightened the rear bolts up tight wired it up and hey presto a working alternator #-o

I've got a spare alternator sitting in my loft if anyone is interested. PM me for details.
