Well, I think I have cracked it. I haven't yet changed the fluid but it looks as clean as a whistle (bear in mind we cracked the bleed nipples on the caliper & it ran out clean). I pulled the vacuum pipe off the servo, no different so removed the servo. Bingo, wheels freed up. Reduced the length of the servo to master cylinder pushrod by one turn & it all seems OK now. I now realise it never used to roll on a slight incline before :oops: - it does now.

Fingers crossed. I'm off to Falmouth the weekend after next so that will be the test!

Well, after driving to Falmouth & back (screeching most of the way, see other posts :cry: ) it managed a magnificent 20.7 mpg :twisted:

It will be sold in the spring. Fed up to the back teeth with it, shame as its a nice car, but I have had enough now. I will get a sensible tow car & a tent for the odd occasion we sleep in it.

What a shame :( Mine continues to do 30mpg on a run. Weird you are getting such poor figures. Your gearbox advice will be missed :(
