This is a truly brilliant peice of kit as when you get to the campsite it turns into a swiss army roof, once removed it can be used as either a paddling pool for the kids, a nice bubbly bath or a little boat to go and do a little fishing in =D>

There is a rubber seal on all edges.

I was thinking just that  transom mount on the back & little outboard :-k Didn't "playpeople" used to have a camper that had roof/boat?
Joking aside, great idea, still undecided on looks personally, but functionality/flexibility - great =D>
How's the front seal when doing motorway speeds? What about security with external clips?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Figured you may have put a seal on , just cant see it on pics, i assume then it will be pretty stable at speed , given that it is a roof normally used as a permanent fix ?

Just fitted the Fiamma Pro 35 sunshade.....very easy job and pleased with the overall result..
There is a massive amount of room in the "upstairs" loft.....got to be careful not to put anything to heavy up there. 3 inch memory foam mattress and 15 tog duvet, wind breaks, etc all get lost up there.

So far so good !!!! been for a couple of runs and it behaves very well.....there does not seem to be any differance in performance or stability....There are no rattles etc and it does not appear to be trying to lift even at motorway speeds....Also no sign of the rain getting under.

Not everyones cup of tea but it looks o.k. and the amount of space is amazing...Gotta be better than a trailer/backbox/roofbox etc..

When it's off it's still a tintop with a sunroof, structural integrity unchanged

how about a hybrid? a high top aft. obviously a bit of "beefing up" would be required to the mechinism but you would have the best of both worlds. flexibility of the aft but the extra storage for all the bits and bobs carried on trips when stowed down.

Last year I checked out if any dealers could supply me with a glassfibre hightop to completely replace our AFT but was told that it would cost too much to convert a tintop hightop to fit the AFT roof shape. Pity ,because I like the idea of the extra perm. roof storage Now that our son is off to Uni that is all we use the AFT for

I've just come across this thread - brilliant idea and execution =D>

Wondering why you didn't get it painted to match the upper body :-s

Thought it looked a bit more "streamlined" matching the lower body.

So, how has the longer term test of the removable roof been going?
Great job, looked really good although I would have painted it in the main body colour, removed the rear roof spoiler and fitted a more 'low profile ' roof light
