Bongo Fury

I'm happy to be anywhere in the Exeter-ish area and will definitely be staying overnight somewhere - but since I have no previous experience, I'm open to suggestions
(I could get quite excited - a whole new adventure )

Any progress with plans, dates, venue yet?

I like the idea of a West Country meet, put faces to the names of some of the guys (and gals) in here.

Went out for a recce last evening and I have come up with something as follows

Brean beach car park at the bird garden, there is more camping there than you can shake a stick at and Channel View is alongside the sea wall about 100 yards away

We can park on the tarmac car park or on the sand, there is loads of space, cafe, shop and toilets. carpark is a NT carpark and is £2.50
carpark link the carpark and so beach parking closes at 8 pm at the moment

Day meet on Saturday 10th September which is the week before the Bongo fest south west meet in Looe. is the best date I can come up with without affecting other meets or school holidays.

So I am calling this a date and see what we get, if you want to camp please arrange directly with sites there are loads around but channel view is closest. may be a good idea to post sites if you are interested so you can camp together.

Brean is a established holiday village with plenty of facilities pubs, shops, a golf course even a funpark and swimming complex where we will park there is a NT walk across Brean down which is the headland and Miles of beach Many people holiday here year after year.

Burnham on sea is to the south and Weston-super-Mare is to the north with cheddar and Glastonbury not too far away giving loads of opportunities for things to do if you decide to come and stay for a few days.

Yep, thats good for us, we like brean and have been there quite a few times. Thats a very good choice Rob, good date as well, the kids should all be back at school.

Not sure yet if I can make that weekend (OH's big birthday on the 8th) but for a suggestion for camping, Warren Farm (huge place) http://www.warren-farm.co.uk/parkmap.html has a rally field (usually Field 3) and if a club can book the rally field, or a part of it, then the camping is real cheap (around £7 or so with electric) and the facilities are fantastic - although 50p for a shower.

By booking the rally field, or part of it, visitors can drive in and the meet can take place on the rally field.

Now who do we know with one of those Certificates you need to book a rally?

I'll be there whichever site is chosen and I'll make a weekend of it ..
of all coincidences - went to the hairdressers today to discover my stylist bought a Bongo 3 months ago!!! have advised her strongly to join us online

I'm liking Jill's idea of the rally field.

Rally field would mean booking in advance and some one paying for it, taking money off people etc.
i'm not prepared to do this and as Jilly you say you probably won't be going the day met it stays and everthing that is needed is there at the beach car park
