Thanks. I'm guessing, as mine was £205 last July, it will be the £215 this year. I've been told that the V6 motor was an overhead cam affair, but I've just seen a photo of what purports to be a V6 and it clearly has pushrods! Does anyone have any tech. details of this engine? And has anyone bought a new exhaust system for it? I see that lambda and o2 sensors are mind-numbingly expensive.....over £300 the pair!

We've got a V6 and it's lush.

Rear wheel drive and it's a sweet sweet drive. Engine sounds lovely - though I've never driven a diesel to compare! 4x4 diesels are awesome and ideal for towing the world if thats your bag!

LPG is the way ahead - expensive at first, but you will eventually get your money back. I've seen some posts and the figures suggested are a years milage. The difference in filling is approx (gas v petrol) £20 difference......to put it into context 550 KM journey costs me £65 in gas and £95 in petrol using the cost of petrol at the same place we fill up in gas to make the calculation.

The other plus is that the servicing schedule is a bit better with stuff done after a sensible amount of mileage rather that the lower schedule of the diesels (check out the forum on servicing).

With a LPG conversion you will hold the value of the V6 too. We have had ours almost a year and the VAT is all we've lost.

Advice for tanks size is to go for one that will allow you to fill with 65l of gas - that will give you an easy 400km to a tank. We have a tank that gets 55l and that will give us 300 to 330kms driving on the motorway at 70 mph loaded up to camp!

Whatever you do......do it in a bongo........

The V6 is J5-DE quoting from Wikipedia;
The 2.5 L J5-DE is a DOHC motor producing 159 hp (119 kW).

Applications:

* 1990-1994 Mazda 929
* 1991-1993 Efini MS-9
* Mazda Bongo
and to confirm it the Lush diagrams don't have any push-rods either ;-)
