After some forum searching, I followed the method posted by MissFixIt linked in my previous post on this thread.
I cut a spade terminal in half, ran a 3 amp inline fuse with the other side of the fuse connected it to the positive (red) wire of the coolant alarm, plugged that in the top section of the no. 8 fuse (top right, 1 amp one for the cigy socket). I checked it only came on with the ignition. The lower half of the no. 8 fuse has the Willinton wire coming off it and is powered by the LB.
I think all's well. The alarm chirps when the ignition is switched on, then goes off. It blips a bit when the engine is cut off.
I hope this helps anybody else who's in the same situation. I'll try to post a pic.
