Same on ours, no idea what could fit there I'm afriad.

does it happen when you got your aircon on by any chance

I'm sure it is the aircon pump there

waterpump in the middle ish. Power steering, altinator under the driverside along with the filler cap, the altinator is hard to see from up top it sits directly below the p/s pump me thinks
Ps i have a few strange noises on mine, the valve which you can see in the pic begins to click with age when driving at low speeds it's noticeable more when you have the passenger window open, mine has done since i owned it

it is to do with the egr

Yes, air-con has been on since I picked it up last week 'cos of the weather. Would that be tied to revs though? Will try driving home with the air-con off to see what happens. Will also attempt to record the noise - although that usually doesn't work!

Probably:!: i don't know for sure

, when it is turned off i think the compressor free wheels on a clutch kind of thing , try it when it parked engine running turn aircon on see if it happens
I wish my noise was an accessory
Hope yours is

OK, noise continues with air-con off.
Is the item I've highlighted in the pic actually the alternator? Think I'll drive to work with the passy seat up tomorrow, will keep the windows open!

it could still happen when off i think, i would take the belt off to see, and i'm sure it is the aircon compressor under the passenger seat

V6 kinda prone to camshaft/followers wearing causing a grinding/rattling noise. Has it only happened SINCE the cambelt work was done?

dandy, no idea unfortunately, cambelt was changed by dealer on purchase. Didn't hear it during the test drive but then I wasn't listening out for it!

Imperial have put me in touch with a travelling Bongo expert - John Black - well respected I hear. He's coming out tomorrow night so fingers crossed it's an easy fix!

Yes - apparently the heat shields from the exhaust manifold were corroded and rattling, John fixed them back on. That said - the noise is still there! I'm getting more and more convinced that it's exhaust related.

I'll have a look round mine tomorrow....is that not the A/C pump/compressor ?? I'm nor sure but will look in the morning..
I get no "extra" noises from mine at any speed/revs.
