Is it just me or would the empirically smoother surface of the chrome offer less drag coefficience hence improving the dynamics of the overall proficiency profile?

your probably right, except your missing one vital point, its the amount and weight of the chrome that's the problem the aerodynamics have nothing to do with it, it dragging the ruddy floor.

However, most chromed bling is, (with respect) lightweight & plastic based. The increased aerodynamics would balance out the minimal weight gain.
5 mpg is an unrealistic forecast.

bin polishing the ol Bongo for weeks now, in prep for the big one. your not alone DBO, just wish the bash was longer, see you gays next week, looking forward to talking all things Bongo
