mine did exactly the same after i adjusted the handbrake, check the rear hubs when it happens
one of mine was red hot, cooled after 10 mins then did it again after a couple of miles
sounds like handbrake needs loosening a tad

Yes, check this. I had very similar symptoms on my old Skoda when one of the brake callipers was seizing up and not releasing fully. Brake disk was, quite literally, red hot...!
